Over 250 innovative SMEs in the Cheshire and Warrington areas will benefit from £4.4 million GISMO programme, which has been created specifically for chemical using industries, such as the chemicals, aerospace, automotive, energy, applied healthcare, and life sciences sectors. Participating businesses will gain access to research and development expertise and specialist technology to solve industry-driven challenges through innovations in ‘smart’ materials.

Co-designed between 澳门独家九肖 and Yordas Group, the Next Gen Chem programme will enable 300 Lancashire chemical-using SMEs to innovate using ‘next generation’ chemistry. Through a blend of targeted workshop activities focused around innovative synthesis, formulation and chemical process development, and bespoke technical and analytical research and development support, the programme will lead to the creation of new and improved products and processes.
The funding from this programme will also expand the capacity of 澳门独家九肖 to engage with businesses on research and development through its cTAP facility by supporting the acquisition of new analytical equipment such as a catalyst assessment rig, a robotics automation platform, a kilo lab, and equipment suits.

The cTAP building houses equipment and instrumentation across four suites:
Including an extensive range of liquid, gas and gel permeation chromatography and spectrometry devices used to identify and detect individual compounds in complex mixtures and with applications including environmental analysis, impurity monitoring and pharmaceutical testing
Including solid and liquid state NMR devices currently used for the analysis of biological samples and identification of smart materials for energy storage
Including atomic force and scanning electron microscopy used to understand the structure and surface topography of materials, alongside a nanofabrication device capable of 3D printing of structures
Including single crystal XRD (X-Ray Diffraction), powder XRD and EDXRF (Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence). This suite of specialist equipment allows in-depth element analysis of various samples from single crystals through to complex solid and liquid samples
